3 Sweet & Savory Bread Bowls ⬇️ SCRUMDIDDLYUMPTIOUS RECIPES BELOW ⬇️ You've probably had your fair share of bread bowls before – after all, they're a convenient and delicious way to serve your food! In these 3 recipes, we're using the bread bowl format for a whole range of dishes, both sweet and savory, and it's pretty clear that there's nothing a bread bowl can't do!

1. Feta Pasta Bread Bowl

You'll Need:

- 1 round loaf of bread
- 4 oz cherry tomatoes
- 4 oz feta cheese, cubed
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ½ tsp oregano
- salt & pepper to taste
- ¼ stick melted butter + 1 minced garlic clove for the garlic butter
- 4 oz cooked pasta

Here's How:

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Cut the top off of a round loaf of bread, set the top aside, and hollow out the inside of the bread. Fill the bread bowl with the feta cheese cubes and cherry tomatoes, pour the olive oil over the filling, and season with oregano, salt, and pepper. Place the bread lid back on the filled bread bowl. For the garlic butter, mix the melted butter and minced garlic together and brush it over the closed loaf of bread. Wrap the bread bowl in aluminum foil, place it on a baking tray, transfer the baking tray to the oven, and bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, remove the aluminum foil and bake for another 10 minutes until golden brown. Meanwhile, boil some water on the stove and cook the pasta until al dente. Drain the cooked pasta and take the bread bowl out of the oven. Remove the top of the bread bowl and stir in the cooked pasta.

2. Apple Pie Bread Bowl

You'll Need:

- 1 round loaf of bread
- 3 apples, peeled & sliced
- ½ cup pecans
- 2 tbsp sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- juice of ½ lemon
- ¼ stick melted butter
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- caramel sauce for the topping

Here's How:

Preheat the oven to 325°F. Cut the top off of a round loaf of bread, set the top aside, and hollow out the inside of the bread. Combine the sliced apples, whole pecans, sugar, cinnamon, and juice of ½ a lemon, and spoon the mixture into the bread bowl. Place the bread lid back on the filled bread bowl, brush melted butter over the entire loaf of bread, and sprinkle brown sugar on top. Wrap the bread bowl in aluminum foil, place it on a baking tray, transfer the baking tray to the oven, and bake at 325°F for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, remove the aluminum foil and bake for another 10 minutes until golden brown. Drizzle caramel sauce on top of the apple pie bread bowl to serve.

3. Bacon & Cheese Quiche Bread Bowl

You'll Need:

- 1 round loaf of bread
- 4 oz bacon, fried & diced
- 1 leek, chopped 
- 4 eggs
- ⅔ cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese, divided
- pepper to taste
- ¼ stick melted butter + ½ tsp herbes de Provence for the herb butter

Here's How:

Preheat the oven to 325°F. Cut the top off of a round loaf of bread, set the top aside, and hollow out the inside of the bread. Fry the bacon in a skillet until crispy, chop the white and light green segments of the leek, and fry them together with the bacon. Once the leeks are tender, spoon the mixture into the bread bowl. Whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, pepper, and half of the shredded Swiss cheese. Pour the egg mixture over the ingredients in the bread bowl, sprinkle the rest of the Swiss cheese on top, and place the bread lid back on the filled bread bowl. For the herb butter, mix the melted butter and herbes de Provence together, and brush it over the closed loaf of bread. Wrap the bread bowl in aluminum foil, place it on a baking tray, transfer the baking tray to the oven, and bake at 325°F for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, remove the aluminum foil and bake for another 15 minutes until golden brown. Remove the bacon & cheese quiche bread bowl from the oven and garnish with fresh herbs.
